The workshop will be hosted in the UC Berkeley Campus, which is in an urban setting in the downtown of Berkeley, CA [google map]. The campus is walking distance from dozens of restaurants, hotels, coffee shops, and public transportation. If you are flying into the San Francisco International Airport (SFO), there is a direct Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART) line connecting the airport to downtown Berkeley [google map].
In addition to the local hotels, there are many housing options that can be found via Airbnb.
The Bay Area, which includes San Francisco, Oakland, and Berkeley, and the rest of the smaller cities, is known for its relatively high prices. In order to help reduce the costs of attendees, we are working with housing services on campus and at the lab to reserve subsidized housing. There are three different housing options that we can reserve:
- Apartment style on campus [Anchor House] - single room in a shared apartment [$145/night, including fees]
- Dorm-style on campus [Foothill Housing]- single room occupancy, shared bathroom [$112/night, including fees]
- Guest house at the lab [link] - hotel style up the hill at the lab [$139/night]
If you want us to reserve any of these options for you, please fill out this form [link].
To be considered for campus housing, you need to fill out this form by March 21, 2025.
