Description

SPEAR3 is a 500 mA, third generation synchrotron light source at SLAC. It consists of a linac and booster ring, both commissioned in 1990, and a storage ring that was upgraded to its current configuration in 2003. The SPEAR3 ring uses the LLRF designed for PEP-II. The LLRF of the linac has been upgraded from its initial design to improve its stability and reliability. This paper documents the requirements and performance of these systems and discusses potential upgrades to the systems.
