Description
GERDA searches for neutrinoless double beta decay of Ge-76.
Diodes from the former Heidelberg-Moscow and IGEX experiments
as well as new ones with small area contacts have been
operated in the first phase of the experiment.
A blind analysis has been performed. After all selections
and calibrations were finalized, the unblinding took place
in June. The result from this phase is presented. It includes
a discussion of the background sources and the pulse shape
analysis.
