What performances and parameters should the conductor have? How can we make magnets using these conductors?
What is the maximum dipole field a REBCO magnet can generate?
What is the magnet performance? How does it quench? What is the field quality?
Does the magnet performance degrade, e.g., during operation, after thermal cycles? If so, how can we prevent it?
How can we characterize the performance for long conductors?

Update on magnet status
subscale common coil
COMB
c3
Magnet status:
COMB: received the 3D printed mental mandrel to test the short CORC® wires. The CMM measurements show good tolerance on the printed part. Will follow up with ACT on the next step in the week of 3/14.
C3: conductor order still up in the air but the latest batch of SuperPower tapes meet the specs. There is hope if the performance can be reproduced on longer lengths. Waiting for the hardware to test the terminations, followed by the make of 3-turn C3.
Important to acquire STAR® wires to continue the magnet work.
Let's keep an eye on the development status of stacked-tape cables.
Anis to invite BTG to give a seminar on their latest status and coil test results.
We also plan to invite Makoto Takayasu to discuss a Rutherford cable concept. Recent paper: https://iopscience.iop.org/article/10.1088/1361-6668/ac30eb/meta
A recent paper from CERN on using a 2-tape cable for a 10 T magnet: https://ieeexplore.ieee.org/document/9723655
Snowmass: let's express our opinions and write white papers. Submit by 3/15/2022.
Vadim contributed on REBCO to a white paper led by Giorgio
Ramesh is working on one on common coil
Soren is working on one on MDP
Maria is working on one on quench detection
Xiaorong will circulate a draft on 3/15 or sooner...
