Getting Here

The most convenient airport is the Sacramento International Airport, which is about 20 minutes from campus by by car.  You can either rent a car or take Uber/Lyft for about $30.  Avoid the taxis as they are very expensive.

The Oakland International and San Francisco International Airports are 75 and 85 miles away, respectively, and traffic can be very bad depending on the time of day, even on weekends.  You can also get here from those airports via a combination of Bart and Amtrak.  Just consult Google Maps.

Meeting Location

The workshop will take place in Room 318 of the Physics Building ("Lander Lab").   Just follow directions to "UC Davis Department of Physics" on Google Maps.  It's a 15 minute walk fro the Aggie Inn.  If you drive...

Parking

I've reserved 5 spaces behind Crocker Nuclear Lab (Jungerman Hall), which is next to the Physics Building.  Just follow Google Maps to "Crocker Nuclear Lab".  If those are full, there are spaces in "UC Davis Lot 46" (parking rules not enforced on weekends).

Lunch/CNL Tour

We'll have pizza delivered to Crocker Nuclear Lab, followed by a tour of the facility.  Please wear long pants and closed-toed shoes!  Cost: $10/pp, cash or PayPal ([email protected])

Dinner

Dinner will be at Bistro 33 at 6:30, which would be a reasonable walk from the Aggie Inn, but a bit far from the Physics Building (1.2 mi).  Parking can be a real nightmare in Davis, especially on a Saturday evening.  If you can't find street parking, there's a free parking garage at the Regal Holiday Theater, just down F Street from the restaurant.

Weather (last updated 1/23/20 at 10AM)

This is the rainy season in Davis.  They are currently predicting a high of 60 degrees with a 40% chance of "PM Showers".
