    Description
The Majorana experiment proposes to assemble an array of HPGe detectors to search for neutrinoless double-beta decay in ⁷⁶Ge. Neutrinoless double-beta decay searches play a major role in determining the Majorana/Dirac nature of neutrinos, and would have significant implications for our understanding of the nature of neutrinos and matter in general. Initially, Majorana aims to construct a prototype system containing 40 kg of Ge detectors to demonstrate the feasibility and potential of a future tonne-scale experiment.
