Reaching the Bay Area and Berkeley
LBNL and Berkeley is easily accessible via public transit or rental car from two major international airports:
From both of these area airports it is a < 1 hour drive to reach Berkeley by car. Alternatively, the BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) offers a convenient public transit option directly from both SFO and OAK to the Downtown Berkeley Station, which is within walking or a short Uber/Lyft ride of the Berkeley area hotels suggested.
For your information, BART will go less frequently on less routes this Sunday June 7th because of construction in the Bay Tunnel. If you plan to take the train from SFO to Berkeley Downtown, you will take the Yellow line and then transfer to the Orange line at Oakland 19th St.
A shared-ride shuttle service also convenient for either arrival airport is SuperShuttle.
