Description
The goal of the BELLA-i workshop is to identify exciting opportunities for high energy density physics at the proposed BELLA-i collaborative research facility. The workshop agenda will be structured roughly along the following working group topics: 1. Physics and technology of laser driven ion acceleration 2. High harmonic and other secondary beam generation 3. High field physics and high power laser - matter interactions 4. Facilities Working group leaders will facilitate the discussions and coordinate input for a brief workshop report. Please see info on the BELLA-i parameters posted in the "Slides" section below. Tours of the BELLA center and other Berkeley Lab facilities will be offered on Jan 22. Invited Speakers: Felicie Albert, Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory Farhat Beg, University of California, San Diego Lee Bernstein, University of California, Berkeley and Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory Pablo Cirrone, Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare, Frascati Tom Cowan, Helmholtz Zentrum Dresden Rossendorf Juan C.
